Charles Bradley, nome di battesimo Charles Edward Bradley è stato un cantante americano di musica soul, funk e R&B.

Nelle sue performance ha sempre voluto celebrare il funk e il soul degli anni 60 e 70.

Ha sempre dichiarato di fare da eco alla eredità evocativa di Otis Redding.

Nel 1996 ha composto il primo album “Black Velvet”, poi rimasterizzato nel 2018, post mortem.

Nel 2012 è stato il protagonista di un documentario sul soul americano “The Screaming Eagle of Soul”.

Nel 2017 a New York il cantante si è spento per un tumore allo stomaco all’età di 68 anni.
